Family of Sol,
The Waxman family sends our deepest condolences to you.
Sol will be remembered as a brave hero, promoting Zionism to persecuted Jews all over the world. His stories were so powerful if you didn't know him you wouldn't believe they were true.
He was a devoted father, grand-father and great grand-father.
May you be comforted by your many wonderful memories. The world has lost a truly great patriot but his legacy will live forever in all of lives he touched.
I hope he finds my father and some great horses to ride!
Our deepest sympathy,

The Schoemann Family

Mr. Goldstein is a pillar of our community, and an inspiration to us all. My grandfather spoke highly of him and Jean and I was blessed to meet him several years ago.

Estelle and I are saddened to learn of Sol's passing. I first met Sol 50 years ago working for the Associated. He was a volunteer extraordinaire, always ready to share his experiences and skills as a speaker when asked and a fighter for causes, Israel, Soviet Jewry, Ethiopian Jews. May he rest in peace.

Dear Don,

So sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. Your parents were always so kind and welcoming to me and my family on Forest Garden Avenue. The Goldstein family was a huge part of my childhood experience. I will always cherish those memories.

Family of Sol,

I am so sorry to hear of Sol's passing. My parents (Hilda & Melvin Schapiro) were good friends of Sol and Jean, and I have many nice memories of them both. My husband Steve, grew up down the street from them on Forest Garden Ave. and remembers them fondly. I ocassionally saw Sol at the Pavillion, as he lived two doors down from my brother. He always had a big hug for me when I saw him. May all your memories support you during this difficult time.

Sol was quite a guy. If there was a battle, he would fight it. We were together in the Insurance business, Chatham Club, and even our Friday morning "discussion" group. A man to be proud of.

Sol has been my neighbor for 15 years, but I had the privilege of knowing him and his beloved Jean before then. Sol and Jean gave unselfishly of their time. Sol shared his immense experience and knowledge with all.
No one was more proud of his family than Sol....and with good reason! He will be sorely missed.
Happy the family who can claim such a patriarch!
May his memory be a blessing.

Sol was the one person who was always a constant in the lives of the Lenet Family. Whether celebrating or consoling Sol was always there. Personally giving me a first start in the business world 44 years ago. To me and my family he was truly UNCLE SOL. He will be missed but always remembered in the many lives' he made richer.

To:Shuki, Don,Ariela & Family: I remember when my son Daniel (called Danny at the time) was classmates with Shuki at Beth T'filoh and when Don was President at Ner Tamid. Sol Goldstein was a mench in the true sense of the word from all of the comments above. May you all be comforted among the mourners of Zion & Jerusalem.

The world of technology allows people to be together, wherever they are, to hold your hand when you need it. Your dad will remain with you forever 'virtually' - a modern man forever and ever xxx

To Sol's family -some of whom I have know for a long time.
When I first entered the life insurance profession, Sol was one of the big producers that always had time for me and helped me in those early years. I remember him jogging out of our office on Light Street and running around the Harbor for exercise.

He was a kind man and very devoted to not only him family, but his Jewish beliefs. He will surely be missed.

Mark, Robert and Donald, I knew Bobby best. I had the privilege of being your Dad's secretary for not only the insurance business but all of his Jewish community outreaches local and nationally for many years. He'd entrust me to "take care of business" while he and Jean were off traveling the world. A special man. He'll always have place in the corner of my mind.

One of my earliest memories of Jewish Baltimore (some 39 years ago when I moved here) was a Yom Hashoah ceremony at the war memorial building where Sol spoke. His words brought history to life and had a profound impact on me. May his words and deeds be a lesson for so many young people today and his memory be forever a blessing.

Dear Family
We were privileged to know and work with Sol in many causes over the years. He was devoted to Israel, Russian Jewry, and the plight of Jews throughout the World as well. I enjoyed working with him as a volunteer at the Associated. Above all, he was a passionate American and an outstanding leader in our Community. May his memory be for a blessing and his deeds and accomplishments never be forgotten.

I have such fond memories of Sol and Jean when I was a little girl. They were both 'larger than life' not only because they were tall but because they just glowed with goodness, kindness and clearly loved each other. Since I moved to Israel many years ago I didn't see them very often. When I did, it was always a sweet reunion with them. The last time I saw Sol was at our big Suttleman family reunion and we had a wonderful conversation. Sol will always have a warm place in my heart. Baruch Dayan Ha'emet.

My condolences to Sol's family. I met Sol while working with the Baltimore Jewish Council, where we both served as President. I believe my term followed Sol's. While I came to understand and respect his amazing commitment to helping oppressed Jews throughout the world while working with him at the BJC, my most profound understanding came when he, I and four others made a trip to the Soviet Union to make contact with the Refusnik community. It was during the days I spent with Sol in the USSR that I came to truly understand the depth of his commitment, and my respect and affection for him only grew stronger. He will be missed.

To the family of Sol Goldstein,
I was honored to know him. He attended many Yom Hashoah commemorations at Yeshivat Rambam as well as at Beth Tfiloh where he was always an inspiration to hear. The students gained so much from their interaction with him. He was a truly inspiring and very special man. I am sure you have many videos of him but should you wish to have the videos we made please feel free to be in touch.(410 350 9430) I will never forget him and will continue to show my students clips of his life story which are almost as inspirational as he was in person. May you be comforted amongst the mourners of Zion. BDE
