Dear Phyllis,
So sorry to hear about your father. He was such a sweet man. Whenever he used to see me he always gave me a kiss on the cheek. My parents Barry and Chic Hoffman loved both of your parents . May all your memories of the good times sustain you at this sad time

I only met Mr Hyatt last year, when we moved into Gristmill.
We used to talk about the war, Israel, and other things, briefly, as I was on my way to the lot, and he was waiting for his devoted daughter. Through this year, our conversations diminished as he began his decline. I always smiled and spoke to him. He was a joy to see, an interesting and simply lovely man. I am privileged to have known him, briefly though it was.
My condolences to his family.

Phyllis, Phillip and family - your dear father was an exemplary man whose devotion to his family -- both immediate and his Beth Tfiloh family -- was selfless, and came from his humility and pride as a deeply conscious Jew. He and your beloved mother Minnie (z"l)enriched my family's life for more than 7 decades through mutual support, great good humor, and sharing of mostly sweet times together. I will never forget the story Irv told at my beloved father Willie's (z"l) 90th birthday party at Beth Tfiloh, when he recounted how Willie regretted having agreed to visit your dog Roycie at the kennel where he boarded while your parents were on vacation. Roycie whimpered so much it tore at Willie's heart, and he could not bear to leave. The story says as much about Irv as about Willie. May his memory be for a blessing.
