“I find a great deal of fulfillment helping people make the funeral process easier on their families.”
Eliza Feller joined the Sol Levinson's team in 2009. She has a wealth of experience working with families immediately following a loss, as well as those looking to preplan. As the head of the advance planning program, Eliza educates the community and helps people ease the decision making process for their surviving family. Her goal is to provide the information people need so they make the best choices for themselves while still healthy.
Eliza is a 5th-generation Baltimorean, though her father's family hails from the Catskills. Like many others, she took a circuitous path to arrive at the funeral care industry. After graduation from Franklin High School, Eliza earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from Boston University and a Master’s in Music Performance from Rice University, as well as an Associate's Degree in Mortuary Science from CCBC. She taught trombone for a few years and played briefly with an orchestra in Milan. Searching for more hands-on work, Eliza shifted to fundraising, development, and event programming for Jewish non-profits in Baltimore and Washington, D.C. before finding her home at Levinson’s.
Eliza and her family are members of Chizuk Amuno Congregation. Eliza has served on the board of other synagogues, started a successful area program for Jewish young professionals, is a lifetime member of Hadassah, and a 3rd generation member of Covenant Guild. She and her husband, Michael Temchine, now live in Mt. Washington with their son, Jonah, and their dog. In her free time Eliza enjoys reading, hiking, camping, listening to music, and watching soccer with her family.
