Children experience grief and need special attention
Losing a loved one can be difficult for any person. However, children experience loss in different ways than adults. A child’s grief is dependent upon many factors, such as:
  • their age
  • prior experiences with loss and grief
  • circumstances of the loss
Grief doesn't have a timeline, and a grieving child may not say much. Offering a shoulder to cry on, and to listening when they are ready to talk is an important step in the grieving process.

There are also many hands-on activities that you can implement with your child to let them express themselves non-verbally.
